Pam Golding Gold Awards 2012

The Gold Awards is an annual event in honor of the hard working team at Pam Golding and the 2012 was once again a huge success.

Although a technically light event we had great time rigging the 16 chandeliers in a venue with NO ceiling rigging points. It is amazing what the right lenght of truss can do in a venue with irregular leveled wall sections.

Other than these we did some basic gobo work with the Martin Mac 350′s and a small JBL VRX system that kept they guys dancing until the early hours of the morning. Clint (or DJ Clint as he was know that night..) also got a chance to play on the new “toy” in the office : a Vestax Typhoon DJ-Controller. This compact unit is perfect of a Laptop combo DJ set.

Mercedes Benz Dealer of the year 2012

If ever there was an event that was lighting heavy, this was it!! What a show!

This prestigious event was hosted in the heart of the Garden Route in George at end of February. Guests from all over the country were invited to spend some well deserved time off with their peers & management staff in recognition of the top Dealers for Mercedes Benz in 2011/12. The evening’s entertainment consisted of a selection of performance artists who portrayed the changing seasons through dance to the eclectic sound of The Muse. The enormous 5m diameter screen was suspended from the roof with support braces off the performance stage behind it. We made use of a gauze screen rather the normal projection surface to allow for silhouette dancers and incredible lighting displays.

Our Martin M1 Lighting consol had a blast with this rigg:

36 x LED parcans,

32 x Mac 101’s,

8 x Mac 350 Entours,

4 x Marc 250’s,

12 xSource four 750w with barndoors,

2 x Selecon Pacific Profile spots,

10 x LED Standard Battens,

8 x LED 3 way Floot Battens,

4 x MX 10 units

and to top it all off, the Martin Jem Glaciator X-tream

in total 120 lighting fixtures.

Dimension Data Pro Am 2012

This prestigious golfing event is accompanied by 4 incredible evenings of visual and aural delight. The first night; hosted by BMW SA gave guests a taste of pure luxury with the reveal of the F30 3 Series. This beautiful piece of German engineering was highlighted by making use of a selection of LED 3 way floods,
LED batons and Mac 101’s. The CCPP owned Martin M1 Lighting Controller once again proved it’s worth in supporting an event of this stature.

The Britehouse talent evening brought back memories of the artists loved and supported by the SA public during the ever so popular shows SA’s Got Talent & SA Idols. The set was transformed to a broadcast quality set where the variety of artists could once again share their talent; this evening we saw Kalon Badenhorst the freelance dancer. Iman Bulbulia the pint sized pianist on a Clavinova CLP 465 and Louwtjie Rothman to only name a few.

The last two evenings where made up of an outdoor picnic concert where Watershed entertained guests under the stars and the gala dinner; back in the marquee. The outdoor concert was a last minute request but the CCPP team managed to pull this one off with the greatest of ease building a truss roof structure & stage. The PA system consisted of two a side VRX line array units controlled with the Yamaha LS 9 desk. The CCPP owned 66kVa silent generator was used to power this magical evening.

This news is a little late but if you need a reminder of this incredible Sunday afternoon take a moment to scroll through the photos taken on the day. The roof structure stage was once again set up on the driving range at Fancourt Hotel. The two VRX speaker towers carried the sound for miles away supported by 14 x SRX 718 subs and 4 x SRX 728’s

The band were welcomed on stage by a local Djembe drumming band followed by LeRoy from Mercy Bones. Once onstage we all remembered why we loved Just Jinjer so much when they were still in South Africa. The crowd sang along to old favourites and as the day drew to an end we all screamed for one more song.

Keep an eye out for another concert on the range in the near future!!

Contrary to popular belief, the technical elements at a wedding play an integral role in decor. Simply By using the correct lighting techniques you have the freedom to transform your venue several times during the evening to suit your chosen colors. Another important element to a wedding is ensuring the correct entertainment or DJ is booked.

As part of our wedding packages we offer a variety of decorative lighting such as chandeliers, fairy lights and general atmospheric lighting. We also offer a selection of silent generators that are an essential element to any outdoor weddings. These units could be used to supply power to your ceremony and reception venue for lighting, sound and kitchen equipment.

The newest additions to our wedding line are white speaker plinths. They also double up as display plinths that can be used to set up mass arrangements or other decorative items.

Dimension Data Brighthouse Evening

CCPP were once again asked to manage all technical aspects of the Dimension Data Pro Am hosted in George during February 2011.

A large marquee structure were to be used for each of the dinner functions however decor and technical elements were to be used to create a different venue every night.

The first evening’s Talent Show was sponsored by Brighthouse and brought SA” got Talent stars such as James Bhemgee and Madaline Abrahams. The party kicked off when Elvis Blue got onto stage and had the guests dancing till the early hours of the morning.

The 10.8m x 7.2m stage played host to the selection of artists with a full Yamaha stage custom drum kit and a Yamaha MO8 Synthesizer. The roof rigged truss of 9m long hosted 3 Mac 350 Entours and a selection of LED can’s to add effect to the various sets during the evening. Two 7.5 x 10ft front projection screens flanked the stage.

Dimension Data Cisco Ball

The Cisco Ball was the final dinner for this years Dimension Data Pro Am. A 4m x 4m x 6m square truss structure was set up in the centre of the room with a small raised stage area. This platform hosted the electric violinist, strength act duo and the highlight of the evening were the two aerial silk performers.

The main stage were not left untouched though, as the burlesque dancers entertained guests throughout the evening and over dinner the Three Tons of Fun performed.

JaguarXJ Road Show

The all-new Jaguar XJ launch took CCPP on a 2 month road show starting in Port Elizabeth, a quick visit to Umhlanga, in-land to Bloemfontein and Gauteng, the final South Africa stop was in Cape Town after which it was Gaborone’s turn. It is said the new Jaguar XJ brings a new spirit to Jaguar, one which promises to offer a seductive mix of design, performance and engineering.

The Jaguar brand is renowned for elegant and contemporary style and this is exactly what our brief was. Create a space where guests are brand exposed yet not overpowered by in your face branding.

Having had to work in various venues during the course of the road show we were often restricted by roof heights and usable floor space. 18 large framed prints of Heritage vehicles as well as some key XJ interior and exterior elements we placed on a built wall structure. Making use of Par 64 LED cans each of the frames was individually lit. In Gaborone we made use of 47’ LCD screens in place of a projection surface as the venue did not allow for sufficient ceiling height to set up a projection surface. The brief presentation on the new Jaguar XJ was accompanied by a short video presentation filled with encapsulating audio clips and incredible visuals. A striking laser show was used to remind guests of the winding roads that they can take with a Jaguar and to add a touch of fun we recreated the Jaguar Leaper as show finale.

As a result of the successful road show CCPP was asked to assist with the 75^th Anniversary of Jaguar in South African hosted at the Trade Commissioner’s private residence in Pretoria as well as at the UK Commissioner’s Private residence in Hyde Park, Johannesburg
